In 1919, my great-grandfather, Roy Troeger, left the US Army to become a gold miner in California. Nearly a 100 years later, I left my life as a Green Beret in search of new beginnings. Drawing inspiration from my great-grandfather to follow my passions, I started building furniture – something I had enjoyed doing since I was a teenager. I found the process of working with metal and wood therapeutic.

As a tribute, I used Roy’s cattle brand, RT, as the Trademark for my newly founded company, Rustic Truth. Just as the RT brand that was passed from my great-grandfather to my grandfather, Richard Troeger, so was a tireless work ethic and love for nature’s beauty. I’m proud to say, these values are evident in every piece I make.
